Ring in the New Year with fun, prizes, and community spirit at our Pre–New Year Bingo on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 12 PM! Join us for an exciting afternoon filled with snacks, drinks, and cash prizes for both kids and adults. Doors open at 11:45 AM to hand out cards, with kids’ games starting at 12 PM and adult games beginning at 2 PM. With one-line prizes ranging from $100–$200 and blackout prizes of $500 for kids and $1,000 for adults, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. This event is open to band members, community members, and staff who are able to attend in person. Join us for a Volleyball Lucky Draw on December 30, 2025 at the Mitaanjigaamiing Gym for a fun, fast-paced day of volleyball. The event is open to the first 54 participants, with registration in person only at $25 per person. Doors open at 11:00 AM and registration closes promptly at 12:00 PM, so arrive early. Players must be 15+ and participate at their own risk. Prizes include 1st place: $500 + entries, 2nd place: $500, and 3rd place: $400, with $1,000 donated by the Mitaanjigaamiing Family Wellbeing Program. The Afterhours Emergency Med Van is available throughout January 2026 to support community members outside regular clinic hours. Service is available Monday to Friday from 4:30 PM to 8:30 AM, and 24 hours on Saturdays and Sundays. The on-call provider rotates weekly. Please refer to the schedule for dates and contact information to ensure timely access to care when it’s needed most.

The gathering will take place on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Sunset Country Métis Community Centre in Fort Frances. Community members are invited to take part in Regalia Making, a weekly hands-on gathering beginning Tuesday, January 20, 2026, and continuing every Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the MFN Roundhouse. This on-going event offers a supportive space to create, learn, and work on your own regalia alongside others, sharing skills, stories, and creativity. Lunch will be provided for registered participants only, and those who have access to a sewing machine are encouraged to bring it, as machines are limited. The Wellness and Wellbriety Support Group offers a safe, supportive space for community members to come together around healing, learning, and connection. Sessions are guided by cultural teachings & activities and may include conversations around addictions and recovery, grief, intergenerational trauma, mental health, and life teachings. Community Wellness Day – Ice Fishing Edition invites community members of all ages to gather at Boffin Lake for a relaxing day outdoors focused on connection, fresh air, and winter wellness. Bring your own ice fishing gear and enjoy a casual day on the ice, whether you’re an experienced angler or just there for the company. The Seven Generations Education Institute is offering a free six-week Heavy Equipment Operator Training Program from February 1 to March 13, 2026, held at Quetico Lodge and Conference Centre. Participants will receive hands-on training and industry-recognized certifications including WHMIS, First Aid & CPR, Working at Heights, and heavy equipment operation for loaders, excavators, dozers, and rock trucks. Eligible youth aged 18–30 will have tuition, PPE, travel from Fort Frances, accommodations, meals, training allowances, and a completion bonus fully covered—plus access to an eight-week quality employment opportunity following graduation.
