All children aged 12 and under are welcome to join us for a fun-filled summer of events hosted by the Makoons and the GDW Team, with help from Recreation. We're excited to offer engaging activities for kids throughout the summer, beginning on July 7. Please note that priority will be given to registered Makoons clients. For safety reasons, unregistered children may not be able to attend on days when our adult-to-child ratio is full. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to a summer of fun and learning! Join in for a day of outdoor fun, friendly competition, and community spirit at the Warrior Challenge event. Hosted at the Nigigoonsiminikaaning Pow Wow Grounds on July 16, 2025! Open to Youth (13–17 years old) and Adults (18+), this action-packed event will run from 10:00am to 3:00pm, with a delicious BBQ to follow from 2:00–4:00pm. Activities include canoeing, a wall climb, tire obstacles, an egg relay race, water bucket challenge, and bean bag toss. Join Captain Darren Gate for a beautiful day exploring the sights on Lake of the Woods and a deluxe fish fry! Please reach out to Claire if you would like to join the group. Priority will be given to Elder's with up to 9 spots available (Wagoneer will only transport 7 plus driver). Note - Wagoneer will leave the MFN community between 8-9am and will return once our adventure is complete!

Are you a youth from Treaty #3 (under the age of 30) with a passion for environmental stewardship? Join us for 4 days of on-the-land learning with Treaty #3 Elders and Knowledge Keepers, IISD-ELA staff, and TPU Environmental Monitors. First come first serve, we have 10 spots available!
